OPEN POSITIONS:

Engineering Associate – Cost Segregation 

As an Engineering Associate on Cost Segregation, you will assist project managers and partners with limited supervision in completing Cost Segregation studies for a variety of clients. You will support the team and our clients on a regular basis and be an essential component of our growing practice. This is a remote position.

Job Title: Engineering Associate – Cost Segregation

Location: Remote Position

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete studies for Cost Segregation
  • Perform takeoffs using construction drawings and site inspections
  • Estimate unit costs using industry standard techniques, RS Means, and other industry costing data
  • Analyze construction cost ledgers, contractor payment applications, and other cost documentation
  • Write detailed reports and narratives
  • Document, review, and assemble comprehensive work product for review by IRS and FTB examiners
  • Project Management
  • Coordinate & perform site visits for clients as needed around the country
  • Communicate and interact directly with clients, CPAs, administrative staff, partners, and CEO about project status, etc.
  • Coordinate the delivery of project results with client and accounting staff to ensure proper billing.
  • Some travel required (up to 10% of work time traveling)

 Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting or related field preferred
  • 3+ years previous experience with Cost Segregation studies or construction estimating (preferably in mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing trades) preferred
  • Professional Engineering License or in pursuit of a plus
  • Experience reviewing other team members work preferred
  • Previous experience with CAD, Drafting, and/or BIM a plus
  • Previous work experience in AEC industry a plus
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Time management and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task on a variety of tasks and projects
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, strong documentation skills
  • Strong client interaction skills
  • Must have reliable transportation and secure work location
  • Self-starter with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM a plus

Tax Consultant I

As a Tax Consultant you will assist tax managers and partners with limited supervision in completing tax incentive studies for a variety of clients throughout the United States.

Job Title: Tax Consultant I

Location: Remote Position

Key Responsibilities

• Complete studies for the R&D tax credit, as well as other specialty incentives as needed
• Obtain and analyze client data using Excel models
• Write detailed reports and narratives
• Research, understand, and analyze many internal revenue codes, treasury regulations, tax court cases, and other
cases
• Document, review, and assemble comprehensive work product for review by IRS and FTB examiners
• Perform site visits for clients as needed around the country
• Interview clients in-person, over the phone, and via e-mail
• Communicate and interact directly with clients, CPAs, administrative staff, partners, and CEO about project
status, etc.

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience with R&D tax credit projects in quantification and documentation required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Engineering, or related field required
• Candidate who is pursuing a CPA license or Professional Engineering license preferred
• Some travel required (client site visits: about 5-10% of work time traveling)
• Time management and attention to detail
• Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task on a variety of tasks and projects
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, strong documentation skills

Lead Field Inspector

As a Lead Field Inspector, you will assist project managers and partners with limited supervision in completing residential and commercial building inspections for a variety of clients. You will support the team and our clients on a regular basis and be an essential component of our growing practice.

Job Title: Lead Field Inspector

Location: Austin, TX, San Antonio, TX/Central TX area, with up to 100% of work time traveling

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and perform site inspections for HERS, Energy Star, code compliance, 45L Energy Efficient Home Credit, Cost Segregation studies, 179D Energy Efficient Commercial Building Deductions, as well as other specialty incentives as needed
  • Relationship management and interaction with construction superintendents, internal employees and external clients
  • Prepare detailed site inspection reports and narratives
  • Document, review, and assemble comprehensive work product for review
  • Project Management
  • Communicate and interact directly with clients, CPAs, administrative staff, partners, and CEO about project status, etc.
  • Coordinate the delivery of project results with client and accounting staff to ensure proper billing.
  • Travel required (up to 100% of work time traveling)

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2 years+ of residential or commercial construction experience required
  • Strong understanding of building science, energy efficiency, construction management, and building performance required
  • Preferred Licenses & Certifications: RESNET Rating Field Inspector (RFI), Energy Star, ICC Residential Combination Inspector
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or related field a plus
  • Previous experience with Energy Modeling (Especially REM/Rate and Ekotrope) a plus
  • Previous experience with Cost Segregation studies or construction estimating (preferably in mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing trades) a plus
  • Previous experience with CAD, Drafting, and/or BIM a plus
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Time management and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task on a variety of tasks and projects
